January 14th, 2007: Posted the update of the Crew Roster, as well as additional links added to the Links page.

June 12, 2006: Added a link on the main menu bar for the Adams Class Veteran's Association website. This site also received the Golden Anchor award from Deckplate.com.

December 24th, 2005: Added yet more photos DDG-6 at Metro Machine to the Photo Gallery

December 11th, 2005: Added more photos DDG-6 in dry dock at Metro Machine to the Photo Gallery

November 27th, 2005: Added photos, courtesy of the USS Torsk Association, of DDG-6 in dry dock at Metro Machine to the Photo Gallery

November 20th, 2005: Added Bob Fox's photos of the German DDG Molders to the Photo Gallery

August 14th, 2005: Added a desktop wallpaper image to the Photo Gallery .

August 8th 2005: The Save the Barney! page has been taken offline. With word that DDG-6 has been towed to the scrappers as of late July 2005, all efforts have been suspended to save her. Efforts are now being increased to save the USS Adams, DDG-2, and set her up as a museum. Information on the ongoing process can be found at the Adams Class Veteran's Association website.

March 15th, 2005: Posted the update of the Crew Roster. Also fixed some links, cleaned up formatting, etc.

April 6th, 2004: Added a scan of the U.S. Naval Institute article on Joshua Barney. (note: this is an eight megabyte file, so it will take quite a while to download).

February 1st, 2004: Added the "700 Vets" article for distribution and downloading to the Save the Barney! page.

January 31st, 2004: Link added to the Association page for downloading the USS Barney Association By Laws. Added the January 4th newsletter to the Newsletter page.

November 6th, 2003: Many updates this month! Monthly update of the Crew Roster, November 2nd newsletter added to the Newsletter page. Also added another newspaper article and a USS Barney information brochure, courtesy of Ron Taylor, to the Save the Barney! page.

October 4th, 2003: Added views of the future Miami museum location to the Save the Barney! page, and uploaded the October 2nd newsletter to the Newsletter page.

September1st, 2003: Added scans of the association IRS documents to the Photo Gallery . Photos from the Sheraton Waterfront Norfolk, the location of the next reunion, were also added to the Reunions page.

August 31st, 2003: Updated the Save the Barney! page with the ability to now make donations online, and some information on the Miami-Dade Historic Maritime Museum.

March 26th, 2003: Minor site cleanup and corrections. A link for the USO's website was also added to the main page.

February 17, 2003: Added a page detailing donation procedures on the Save the Barney! page.

February 13, 2003: The formatting on the Timeline page is fixed. If you have sent additional information or corrections to this document in the past, and they do not appear, please email me so that I may add them again.

February 9, 2003: Added the Joshua Barney biography to the site. Also changed out the items in the Ships Store. Minor fixes made to the Timeline, as pointed out by various emails from shipmates (keep up the good work!). The Timeline page will finally have the formatting problems fixed within the next week or so.

December 3, 2002: Update of the Crew Roster.

December 1, 2002: Added information to the Departed Sailors page. Also updated the Association Membership page with information on where dues payments can be mailed.

September 15, 2002: Monthly update of the Crew Roster, also fixed some discrepancies that members have pointed out on the Timeline page.

August 4, 2002: Monthly update of the Crew Roster.

July 7, 2002: Added the Timeline page. This is still a "page in progress", so please forgive the formatting errors. These will be cleaned up as soon as possible.

May 6, 2002: Updated the Crew Roster and added information to the Departed Sailors page.

April 26, 2002: No update, just a note that today is the one year anniversary of the website. Thanks to all who make it possible.

March 18, 2002: Monthly update of the Crew Roster.

March 18, 2001: Corrected the date of the last update, it was March 17th, not the 3rd. Added cruise books for the years 1963, 1977, 1980 and 1985 to the Cruise Book section.

March 17, 2002: Added new photos of Barney as she currently sits in the Philadelphia Reserve Fleet.

January 13, 2002: A slightly tardy monthly update of the Crew Roster. Happy New Year to all Barney vets- and non vets. May it be a better year than the one we leave behind.

November 29, 2001: Monthly update of the Crew Roster.

November 26, 2001: Updated information on the Ships Store page with details on how to order individual USS Barney golf shirts.

November 2, 2001: Monthly update of the Crew Roster. Also added information on the Zippo orders being taken to the Ships Store page.

October 22, 2001: Added two new photos, courtesy of Richard Watson, to the Photo Gallery . They're large ones, so it will take a while for them to download (you can find them at the bottom of Page Two of the gallery). I also fixed some broken links on the Related Links page (thanks to those who noticed them and let me know), and added links to the Charles F. Adams web site. This is a site with information about many DDG's, and links to more information and individual ship sites.

July 10, 2001: Photo Gallery updates. I'm experimenting with a naming convention that has the submitters name, and the last year they were aboard the Barney. Hopefully this will give viewers a ballpark idea of the photo dates. Please let me know if the new pages are too large, too slow loading, etc.

June 29, 2001: Monthly update of the Crew Roster. Let me know if the pages are getting too big and slow loading. I will cut them down to even more sections.

June 19, 2001: Added scans of the Barney's commissioning and decommissioning booklets to the Photo Gallery

June 19, 2001: Added the latest news letter to the News Letter page. I am in the process of sorting and preparing photos to be added to the site. Kind of a tedious process, but it's getting there.

May 18, 2001: Updated the Crew Roster. Email addresses are now click-able hot links. Still working on a way to be able to search the page by date of service, but that's proving to be a tough one.

May 18, 2001: Some general clean up work done. A new photo on the Commanding Officers page, and other behind the scenes things that aren't really noticeable to the naked eye.

May 10, 2001: Changed the sizes of the columns on most of the pages, the site is now optimized for 800 X 600 resolutions. For those of you with higher resolutions, you'll have more "empty" space when you're looking at the site. Those with the lower resolutions will be able to see the pages without having to scroll from side to side on each page now. A reasonable trade off, I believe.

April 17, 2001: Did some back end work to make the day to day maintenance of this site easier and more accurate. Added some more photos to the Photo Gallery. Added more bios and photos to the Commanding Officers page. Added a feature so that at any time you want to go to the main page of this site, you can simply click on the Barney patch logo at the bottom of the left hand menu.
